Orillia OPP have arrested an alleged drunk driver in a stolen vehicle.
Police were called about a suspicious man, who appeared drunk, entering parked vehicles and knocking on doors in Sebright early Sunday morning.
A short time later, officers located a man who matched the description pulling out of a driveway in a vehicle, but when they attempted to stop it, police say the driver took off at a high rate of speed, lost control and ended up in the ditch.
As a result, Larry RANDELL, age 40, of Orillia, has been charged with:
- Operation while impaired – alcohol
Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
Theft over $5000 of a motor vehicle
Dangerous operation
Flight from a peace officer
Possession of property obtained by crime under $5000
The accused was held for a bail hearing on July 12, 2021, at the Ontario Court of Justice, Barrie.
