The OPP is investigating the death of a man in Tay Township as a homicide.
Police say 24 year old Jonus Keegan Palmer was found dead outside a home on Old Fort Road on Monday night.
An autopsy has since confirmed his cause of death was a gunshot wound.
Police believe there is no threat to the general public as this is not believed to be a random incident. Investigators did make an arrest at the scene, but it was unrelated to the homicide. No further details on that arrest can be released at this time.
The investigation by the Southern Georgian Bay OPP Crime Unit, under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB), with assistance from the OPP Forensic Identification Services (FIS) and in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Coroner for Ontario is ongoing.
