An OPP vessel based in the Midland area has a new piece of life-saving equipment on board.
The Thomas P. Coffin now carries an automated external defibrillator.
It’s been donated in the name of Thomas Coffin by a non-profit organization which provides life-saving defibrillators in the name of fallen Law Enforcement, Fire, Paramedic and Military members.
The Dave Mounsey Fund has provided more than 120 of the devices across Canada.
This latest donation honours OPP Constable Thomas Coffin who was fatally shot in Penetanguishene in 1997.
