
The Grey Bruce Health Unit reported 27 new Covid cases and 12 resolved ones on Wednesday.
According to Public Health, seven people from Saugeen Shores, five from Arran-Elderslie, five people from Owen Sound, two from folks from each of Grey Highlands, South Bruce, Neyaashiinigmiing and Saugeen First Nation, and residents of Meaford and Georgian Bluffs tested positive.
The region’s active known case load increased to 187. Nine Grey Bruce residents are hospitalized locally and six others are receiving care outside the area.
More than 176,000 Covid vaccine doses have been administered in the region to date.
Nine Grey Bruce residents have died from the virus over the course of the pandemic.
The testing and case counts data released by the health unit on Wednesday is reflective of a 24-hour period prior to 11:59 p.m. Tuesday.
