Huntsville Mayor Karen Terziano says incidents like the recent Pride flag burning in her town are very disturbing and will not be accepted.
The Huntsville OPP is investigating a video that circulated on social media last week depicting the removal and burning of a pride flag from a Huntsville school.
Huntsville Mayor Karin Terziano says there is absolutely “no place” in Huntsville for acts of violence and remains “in solidarity” with the LGBTQ2+ community.
“We are deeply upset to hear about this alleged act of violence toward the LGBTQ2+ community and we are devastated to see such activities occur within our community,” says Mayor Terziano. “These types of actions are very disturbing and they will not be accepted in any way.”
Huntsville Council will continue to stand firm against this type of behavior to ensure our community continues to be inclusive, safe and welcoming for all.
