More than a dozen people have been arrested, following a big drug bust in Orillia.
The OPP executed three search warrants in the city last Thursday, when 15 people were taken into custody and officers seized quantities of Fentanyl, Cocaine, Oxycodone, Lysergic Acid Diethylamide (LSD) and Canadian cash, as well as a set of brass knuckles and a machete.
As a result of the investigation, seven people are now facing a list of charges, while the other 8 were released.
The accused include both men and women aged 24-50 from Orillia and the GTA. (See below)
The suspects include:
Amanda ZIMMERMAN, age 29, of Orillia, has been charged with:]
- Possession of a schedule I substance – opioid
- Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine
- Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5000
James NEWTON, age 50, of Orillia, has been charged with:
- Possession of a schedule III substance
- Possession of a prohibited device or ammunition
Alwayne SMART, age 38, of Mississauga, has been charged with:
- Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine
- Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – opioid
- Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5000
Kizzyanna JOSHUA, age 37, of York, has been charged with:
- Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine
- Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – opioid
- Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5000
Adrian DABRIEL, age 36, of York, has been charged with:
- Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine
- Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – opioid
- Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5000
Jerome SHENICK, age 24, of Toronto, has been charged with:
- Possession of proceeds obtained by crime under $5000
- Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – opioid
Georgina WORRELL, age 48, of Orillia, has been charged with:
- Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – opioid
- Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime over $5000
The seven accused parties were all released on Form 10 Undertakings with future court dates at the Ontario Court of Justice, Orillia.
