A major construction project in Barrie is finally complete.
The Harvie Rd./Big Bay Point Rd./Highway 400 crossing opened at 9 o’clock last night.
This project took the last four years to complete and will reduce traffic congestion in Barrie’s south end by connecting Harvie Rd. to Big Bay Point Rd. across Highway 400.
The bridge has five lanes for vehicle traffic, two separate lanes for bicycles and two sidewalks for pedestrians.
