The City of Barrie is recognizing Pollinator Week.
It is an annual event celebrated across the world in support of pollinator health.
Residents are being asked to submit a picture of a pollinator at work with the Pic-A-Pollinator Photo Contest.
The winner will receive a butterfly house and have their winning photo featured on the City’s website and social media channels.
Pollinators are essential to human survival, but they’re increasingly under threat from urbanization, industrial agriculture and climate change
They include: birds, bats, bees, butterflies, beetles, and other small mammals that pollinate plants and help them reproduce.
