The OPP says a dangerous driver in MIdland has been arrested.
Police say they were called about a person driving dangerously around the parking lot of the Mountainview Plaza last week, putting pedestrians and other motorists in danger, but the vehicle was gone by the time officers arrived.
A short time later, police received more reports of the same vehicle, a dark SUV, being operated dangerously in the Walmart and Tim Hortons parking lots on Highway 12.
With the assistance of witnesses, police located the driver in a new Ford Bronco nearby and arrested him.
As a result of this investigation, Jesse Halvorsen, 33 years of Tiny Township, was charged with the following offence of the Criminal Code:
- Dangerous Operation of a Vehicle
He was released to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on July 22, 2021.
This matter remains under investigation and OPP wish to encourage any witnesses who are able to provide information to contact the investigating officer by email at Amy.Thompson@opp.ca or by calling the Southern Georgian Bay detachment at (705) 527-3761.
