Long-term care residents will soon have more access to their loved ones.
Come June 9th, residents who’ve been fully immunized can leave their homes for day and overnight social trips.
Residents with mobility issues who can’t easily get out will be able to have visits with one general visitor at a time in their home too in addition to an essential caregiver.
And regardless of resident and visitor vaccination status, brief hugs will be able to take place.
Where both the resident and visitors are fully immunized, close physical contact, including handholding, will also be given the go-ahead.
Thanks to high levels of vaccination in #LTC & improvements in key public health care indicators, our government is creating flexibility so that long-term care residents can enjoy more social connections with loved ones. The changes take effect June 9. https://t.co/v4HqzlGw79
