Hi, this is Fred Wallace with ” Off the Wire “,….. proudly sponsored by Pete’s Auto Body.
Pete’s Auto Body; because we care about our community….
Many eyes and ears are open and focused on the Ontario Government and the Road Map To Reopen.
Among those anticipating what’s coming down the pipe are the two auto tracks in our region; Full Throttle Motor Speedway at Varney and Sauble Speedway at the Beach.
If everything unfolds as anticipated, Paul Trepanier at Full Throttle expects to conduct 3 full days of practice for drivers on the weekend of June 18th.
He believes Full Throttle could have their first race card on Saturday June 26th and hopefully the following Saturday, July 3rd, would see the return of fans to Full Throttle.
Again, if the cards fall as hoped, Trepanier states Full Throttle will conduct race cards every Saturday, with the odd special date thrown in, from late June through October.
Meanwhile at Sauble Speedway, they too are playing the ” wait & see ” game and they’ll fully announce their plans once government initiatives are confirmed.
Sauble’s Director of Public Relations, Joe Chisholm, doesn’t anticipate any race nights in June but remains optimistic that by Canada Day Weekend, they’ll be rolling with a race card on Saturday July 3rd.
As for fans, again, there’s nothing official yet, but the whisper is they may be allowed to admit half capacity in the Stage 2 of the Return To Reopen.
For Pete’s Auto Body, I’m Fred Wallace.
