Owen Sound Police have charged a woman they say they found asleep at the wheel.
Police say on Thursday (May 20th) at 7:30 a.m. they were called about people sleeping in a vehicle in the 300 block of 14th Street West in the City.
Police say they located the vehicle and found a woman slumped over the steering wheel.
She was arrested for impaired driving and after being assessed by a Certified Drug Recognition Expert, police say she was found to be under the influence of narcotics. Police say she also didn’t have a licence.
The woman of no fixed address, will appear in court next month and her vehicle was impounded for a week.
Police say a 37- year-old Owen Sound man who was a passenger had two outstanding arrest warrants. He was released with a court date.
