The momentum of the pandemic has made a turn for the better in Ontario and COVID-19 cases are falling, but hospitals are still under strain.
That’s the latest from the Province, which outlined its current modeling today.
Dr. Adalsteinn Brown, the co-chair of the Ontario COVID-19 Science Advisory Table, says maintaining some public health measures into mid-June can help ensure a good summer.
“Cases positivity and hospitalization rates are improving, control of the pandemic is improving, but this is still a time for great care and caution to really make sure that we avoid the fourth wave,” he said.
Vaccinations and public health measures are largely responsible for the latest improvements.
Brown says no one wants a fourth wave, but he says the variants of concern are still the wildcards threatening one.
