Barrie Police are warning the public about a dangerous strain of drugs in the community after two overdose deaths in the past 24 hours.
An investigation is underway to find out if the deaths are related to a synthetic opioid that’s green in color and potent enough to require multiple applications of Narcan.
Barrie Police urge you to be vigilant and know that drugs can be mixed with other illicit substances – even small amounts can be fatal.
If someone is going to use illicit drugs it’s suggested they consider doing it in the presence of another person for safety and that Naxalone is present.
If you suspect someone has overdosed, call 911 immediately.
