County of Simcoe Paramedic Services are once again hosting a Virtual Paramedic for a Day Contest!
It is open to all Grade 5 & 6 students, who are invited to make a short video (2 min max) demonstrating the role of a 9-1-1 caller in an emergency and how you can help Paramedics before they arrive.
The deadline to enter is May 19th at 1 p.m..
How does your student participate?
Students interested in participating must prepare a short video (maximum two minutes) demonstrating what a 9-1-1 caller’s roll is in an emergency, and how they can help both the patient and paramedics. The winner will be chosen based on their video entry.
All entries become property of the County of Simcoe Paramedic Services and may be used, re-used, published and republished in whole or in part, individually or in conjunction with other individuals’ images for purposes of promotion, advertising or journalism in any medium, including, but not limited to, printed materials, staff brochures/communications, photographic displays, video footage, media reports, published on the County of Simcoe’s corporate website, intranet and digital panels.
Who is eligible to enter for a chance to win?
Submissions are open to Grade 5 and 6 students who reside in the County of Simcoe or the cities of Barrie and Orillia.
Where do I send the video entry?
Please transfer your video files to paramedic4aday@simcoe.ca using the free WeTransfer platform at www.wetransfer.com. Be sure to include your name, your parent(s)/guardian’s name, home phone number, and what school you attend.
What does the winner receive?
One lucky Simcoe County student will be announced at Simcoe County Council on May 25th and will receive a visit to their home from a paramedic crew, along with an ambulance tour on May 26th.
While exercising physical distancing and wearing the appropriate Personal Protective equipment, a Paramedic crew will present the winner with a First Aid Kit and take part in a photo opportunity.
