One more death and 146 new COVID-19 cases are in the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit’s first update from the weekend.
The latest victim to succumb to the virus was an Oro-Medonte man between 45 and 64 years of age, whose case was not linked to any outbreaks.
The health unit also says 122 more local cases have screened positive as a variant of concern, with 681 currently active variant cases in the region.
The new cases reported today include:

Meanwhile, the health unit says starting tomorrow, the standby list for same day COVID-19 vaccine appointments will be opening each morning at 8:00 a.m. (instead of 7:00 a.m.).
