The Mayor of Goderich says you can expect one big change in the town, during the upcoming Victoria Day weekend.
Province wide stay-at-home orders are scheduled to be end May 20th, just before the holiday weekend.
While group gatherings will still be discouraged, Goderich Mayor John Grace says expanded restaurant and cafe patios will be introduced to the town.
“In regards to the patio and dining outside, I think you are going to see that probably first, as we come out of the stay-at-home order,” says Grace.
“We have had meetings with the restaurant community… and they are working with our public works department now.”
In 2020, town officials delivered more than two dozen picnic tables to eateries, to allow for outdoor dining for patrons.
Grace expects nearly as many picnic tables will be delivered this year, but says patios will be more visible this summer.
