The Province’s momentum on administering vaccines continues to grow.
Today, Health Minister Christine Elliott said by the end of May, Ontario will hopefully have administered first doses to 65 percent of Ontarians aged 18 and over, which is roughly 7.9 million Ontarians.
She provided an update on the vaccination rollout this afternoon.
“Tomorrow (Thursday) we will further expand eligibility to book an appointment, including to individuals aged 50 and over across the Province, individuals with high-risk health conditions and group one of workers who cannot work from home, such as food manufacturing and distribution, agriculture and farmworkers, elementary and secondary school workers, police, firefighters and emergency medical service workers,” she said.
New mobile units are also being sent to vaccinate those living in hotspots too, where the need is greatest.
As of 8:00 p.m. yesterday, 5,599,723 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered.
Today’s numbers will be available at 10:30 a.m. at https://t.co/ypmgZbVRvn.
