Somebody has set more than a dozen small fires in Orillia’s Scout Valley nature area, which is a popular walking and hiking spot in the city.
The fire department says there have been 16 fires set there since last fall. Most have not amounted to much — but in one case fire fighters had to cut down a smoldering tree to make sure the flames would not spread.
There have been more arsons in the last few days and Orillia OPP would like to hear from you if you’ve seen anything, or have information that could help.
