U-S president Joe Biden is suggesting the U-S may be ready to send more of its extra vaccine supplies to Canada.
“I was on the phone for about half an hour today (with) the Prime Minister of Canada – we helped a little bit there, we’re going to try and help some more,” said Biden. “But there’s other countries as well that I’m confident we can help including in Central America.”
Canada has a contract with AstraZeneca for 20 million doses to be delivered by the fall.
The U-S government has not yet approved the vaccine for use there, and so there is a stockpile available – about one and a half million doses from that stock has already been sent to Canada.
