
The new Southgate Community Fund Management Committee is looking for new members to help support local projects, programs and charities.
In search for five to seven new members, the committee, according to the release, seeks to to enrich the quality of life for the people in the Township of Southgate by creating a sustainable granting system for non-profit groups within the area.
The committee will meet no less than four times annually to develop opportunities to increase the Southgate Community Fund, which is a permanent endowed community fund that is managed by Community Foundation of Grey Bruce.
The Community Foundation Grey Bruce manages six community funds for the communities of Grey Highlands, Kincardine, Meaford, Owen Sound, Saugeen Shores, and Southgate, and since its creation in 1994, more than $5.29 million has been distributed. In 2020, around $1 million in grants were awarded to regional charities and non-profits.
According to the release, the length of term for members of the committee will be three year staggered terms with optional reappointment.
Interested candidates with professional or volunteer experience, as well as knowledge of philanthropy, fund development, or marketing and communication are encouraged to apply by emailing the committee expressing interest and listing relevant qualifications at foundation@cfgb.ca by May 9th.
