Owen Sound police have charged a man with failing to comply with the Province’s Stay At Home Order.
Police say just before 9 Wednesday night (April 14), officers responded to a complaint of a possible party at an east side residence.
They say several people were spoken to by police, with a 25-year-old local man being charged and issued a $880 fine under the Emergency Management and Civil Protection Act.
Police are reminding the community that on April 7th the Ontario government declared a state of emergency and issued a province wide stay at home order effective April 8th.
The order requires everyone to remain at home except for essential purposes, which does not include social gatherings. Police would like to stress that it is important to take this seriously and stay home.
