Elective surgeries are being reduced this week in Ontario – including in our local hospitals.
The change is in response to increasing COVID-19 hospitalizations and patients in intensive care, as staff and resources have to be preserved to deal with the influx in infected people in hospitals.
Headwaters Health Care Centre in Orangeville has cancelled some upcoming surgeries and appointments, but if patients have not had a call about a cancellation they should proceed to the hospital as scheduled.

Meanwhile, at Stevenson Memorial Hospital in Alliston says effective Monday April 12, 2021 all pre-scheduled non-urgent surgeries are postponed for acute care patients.
