
Municipalities in Bruce and Grey counties are closing down many public facilities again as Ontario enters a province-wide “emergency brake” shutdown on Saturday.
Essential services in municipalities will continue to operate. This includes services such as road maintenance, water and wastewater, garbage and recycling collection and police and fire departments.
Public facility closure announcements made by local governments in Grey Bruce as of this evening appear below.
Grey County
-No new closure information published as of 5 p.m. on April 1.
Owen Sound
-The Julie McArthur Regional Recreation Centre and Harry Lumley Bayshore Community Centre will be closed. The Bayshore will remain an active vaccination hub.
-The Harrison Park Campground is scheduled to re-open on May 7, 2021 pending any further provincial COVID related restrictions.
-The Tom Thomson Art Gallery will be closed to in-person visits.
-The Household Hazardous Waste Day scheduled for April 17 has been postponed. The next scheduled Household Hazardous Waste Day is May 15, 2021.
-The Owen Sound & North Grey Union Public Library building will be closed to the public, until further notice. Pickup services will be offered during this time.
Georgian Bluffs
-Shallow Lake Community Centre and all other township recreational facilities will close effective April 3.
-The Township Administration Office will continue to be open for collection of payments, and appointments with staff, only.
Meaford
-No new closure information published as of 5 p.m. on April 1.
Grey Highlands
-No new closure information published as of 5 p.m. on April 1.
The Blue Mountains
-No new closure information published as of 5 p.m. on April 1.
West Grey
-The municipal office shall continue with the same modified hours of operation, Monday to Friday, 10 am – 4:30 p.m.
-We are disappointed to have to stop indoor recreation programs, but unfortunately must do so to comply with the provincial directive.
-Pickelball and hockey will be cancelled, the ice will come out of the Ayton arena and any facility rentals, with the exception of permitted religious events, shall be cancelled.
Hanover
-No new closure information published as of April 1.
Chatsworth
-No new closure information published as of April 1.
Southgate
-No new closure information published as of 5 p.m. on April 1.
Bruce County
-Bruce County Administrative buildings will be closed to the public until Monday, May 3, but will continue to offer customer service virtually.
-Bruce County Public Library Branches will be open for curbside pickup only, but will otherwise be closed to the public until Monday, May 3.
-Bruce County Museum in Southampton will be closed to the public until Monday, May 3.
-Bruce County Trails and river access points will remain open, but trail buildings are closed to the public.
-EarlyON Child and Family Centre locations will be closed to the public until Monday, May 3.
Brockton
-The Brockton Municipal Office will be closed to the public from Monday, April 5, 2021 until further notice. The Drop-Off
Box will be available for residents to drop off documentation and payments, which is checked regularly by staff.
-All facility rentals, recreational and leisure programs, including private bookings have been postponed until further
notice.
-The Elmwood Community Centre, Cargill and District Community Centre and Bradley School House Community
Centre are closed to the public until further notice.
-The Greenock Landfill will be closed immediately to all residents to accommodate staff health and safety.
Kincardine
-The Davidson Centre and Tiverton Sports Centre will be closed to the public with all programming
cancelled during this period.
-The Vaccination Centre at the Davidson Centre will remain open at scheduled times.
Saugeen Shores
-The Town of Saugeen Shores will be closing its facilities to the public, including the Municipal Office, Public Works facilities, Fire Departments, The Plex and Rotary Hall, Centennial Pool, Southampton Coliseum, Southampton Town Hall auditorium, Southampton Curling Club, Port Elgin and Southampton Visitor Centres.
-Municipal Services will continue during the shutdown period and staff can be reached by telephone or email.
-The Southampton Landfill will remain open with strict protocols in place.
South Bruce Peninsula

Huron-Kinloss

Arran-Elderslie

South Bruce
-Municipal Office, 21 Gordon Street in Teeswater will be closed to the public until further notice. Staff will be available by appointment, phone or e-mail.
-All Recreation Facilities in the Municipality of South Bruce will be closed until further notice including: Teeswater Culross Recreation Complex, Mildmay Carrick Recreation Complex, Teeswater Town Hall, Formosa Hall, Formosa Community Center
-The ice surfaces at the Teeswater Culross Community Complex will be removed.
Northern Bruce Peninsula
