More than $48,000 raised through the 81st annual CFOS-Sun Times Christmas Fund broadcast was doled out to 23 local charities today.
Director of Finance and HR Manager for Bayshore Broadcasting Sue O’Reily said it was the most raised in the 81 years of the broadcast. “We are just thrilled with the turn out and the response from the community and community businesses, it was just a wonderful response for a lot of people who really benefit from these monies.”
The broadcast was held in December 2020 and took a different approach due the pandemic, foregoing the usual live performance at the Roxy Theatre in downtown Owen Sound.
Donations continued to flow in to the fundraising initiative early in the new year.
Each of the community charities received in excess of $2,000 each.
