Premier Doug Ford is telling people not to make plans for Easter weekend.
He is also warning Ontarians that the province is considering additional restrictions to combat a recent surge in COVID-19 cases, thanks to variants of the virus.
Ford said he wouldn’t hesitate to lock things down if he has to.
Ontario health officials reported more than 2,300 new COVID-19 infections on Tuesday, marking the sixth consecutive day in which case numbers have remained above the 2,000 mark.
They also reported the highest number of COVID-19-related hospitalizations since early February, with at least 1,090 patients currently in hospital due to COVID-19 and 387 being treated in intensive care.
