In its first update from the weekend, the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit is reporting 172 new COVID-19 cases, along with one more death related to the virus-a New Tecumseth woman between 65 and 79 years of age.
The health unit also says tests have confirmed 738 cases of the UK variant in Simcoe Muskoka, as well as 18 cases of the Brazilian variant and one case of the strain that originated in South Africa.
The new cases reported today include:
