A 36 year old West Grey man has been sentenced to four and a half years in prison.
West Grey police say last Thursday (March 25th) Cory Francis McCarthy was sentenced and also received a lifetime Weapons and Firearms Prohibition following a stabbing incident in May, 2020.
West Grey Police were called to an early morning disturbance on May 24th, 2020 at a Durham address and found that an adult male victim had been stabbed in the chest. Officers arrested McCarthy later that day.
They say he pleaded guilty to Aggravated Assault and Assaulting Police while the charge of Attempted Murder was withdrawn as part of a plea bargain.
