The City of Owen Sound has released its report on council’s pay and expenses for 2020.
In all, more than $273,000 was spent on the salaries, per diems and expenses of Owen Sound councillors last year. That’s up slightly from about $268,000 in 2019.
Mayor Ian Boddy was the top earner at a salary of $57,853. Deputy Mayor Brian O’Leary took home just over $29,200, while all other Owen Sound councillors received $25,450 in remuneration in 2020.
When it comes to expenses, Coun. Richard Thomas ran up the highest bill at $2,661.
Scott Greig charged city taxpayers the least for costs related to his work as a councillor last year: $179.
Expenses reported by others on council are as follows:

Coun. Carol Merton — $665
Coun. Brock Hamley — $547
Coun. Marion Koepke — $473
Coun. Travis Dodd — $269
The city also spent just over $8,300 on per diems and expenses for the Police Services Board, Grey Sauble Conservation Authority Board and Committee of Adjustment.
