It’s that time of year again, to spring ahead.
Ontario residents will spring forward into Daylight Saving Time on Sunday at 2 a.m..
That means more darkness in the morning and a lost hour of sleep.
Most cell phones will change time on their own, but other clocks in your home may need to be changed manually.
A private members bill called the Time Amendment Act to get rid of the twice annual time change received full support from the legislature late last year, but it would only become law if New York and Quebec agree to do the same.
The clocks won’t fall back again until DST comes to an end on Sunday, Nov. 7.
According to experts, some people will experience a shock to their bodies’ internal clock when the time changes, similar to the jet lag experienced after flying across time zones.
It’s also the time of year when residents are reminded to change the batteries in their smoke and carbon monoxide alarms.
