For the fourth day in a row, no new deaths related to COVID-19 have been reported by the Simcoe-Muskoka District Health unit.
However, it did report 35 new cases of the virus on Thursday, along with a rise in variants in the region.
According to the health unit, 216 local cases have tested positive for the B.1.1.7 variant that originated in the UK, which is up by 11 cases since last report, while 15 more cases have screened positive as a variant of concern for a total of 382.
The new cases reported include:

3 Penetanguishene
