It’s a mess on the roads.
The OPP is asking motorists to stay home or postpone any travel until the conditions improve.
Numerous crashes have been reported on most major highways, including a multi-vehicle crash on the 400 between Bradford and Barrie.
OPP officers have also been dispatched to a multi car crash in white-out conditions on Highway 400 south bound lanes on the bridge over top of Duck Bay at Waubaushene, Tay Township.
Police say upwards to 11 vehicles are currently involved with numerous persons injured and six County of Simcoe Paramedic EMS vehicles are on scene assisting with the injured.
A County of Simcoe LINX bus is assisting by removing involved persons away from the scene to the Tay Township Fire Hall in Waubaushene.
A Snow squall warning remains in effect with Environment Canada warning of squalls and dangerous whiteout conditions until later tonight.
Hydro One says it is also dealing with a number of power outages.
