More students are being sent home to get tested for COVID-19.
Students in our region returned for in-class learning earlier this month and there are currently 22 active cases of COVID-19 in schools across Simcoe County, but Muskoka isn’t out of the woods yet.
According to school boards and the health unit, the schools with positive cases of the virus include:
- Innisdale SS
- Eastview SS
- Terry Fox Elementary
- East Oro Public
- St. Joan of Arc
- St. Peter’s Catholic
- St. Theresa’s Catholic
Positive cases have also been reported at schools in Tottenham, Angus, Innisfil and Bradford.
Meanwhile, public health officials in Sudbury have sent home students and staff from two schools following five confirmed cases of COVID-19 identified as variants of concern.
There are also eight Toronto schools linked to at least one person that has screened positive for a COVID-19 variant of concern.
The health unit will always contact anyone who is considered to have had high-risk exposure to a known case of COVID-19.
