A barn collapse in Springwater Township is being blamed on a heavy snow load.
Fire crews from Springwater, Wasaga Beach and a technical rescue crew from Barrie responded and managed to free five cattle from the collapsed building on Elliot Sideroad on Thursday afternoon.
One animal had to be euthanized at the scene because it was badly hurt.
A fire official says neighbours and other farmers also assisted by helping with snow removal and animal control.
