A coalition of ratepayer groups, conservation organizations and first nations, says Simcoe County should be included in the expansion of the greenbelt.
The province has unveiled plans to include lands west of Toronto and river valleys east of Toronto in an expanded greenbelt.
The Simcoe County Greenbelt Coalition supports the expansion, but says the county deserves the same protection at a time when the natural environment is under threat from sprawl and expansion of aggregate pits.
