Jays Fly South
The Toronto Blue Jays will open the Major League Baseball season in Dunedin, Florida, according to multiple sources.
The formal announcement is expected today when the club holds its first workout for pitchers and catchers
The shift to TD Ballpark covers homestands up to May 2nd at which time the potential exists they could be allowed to return and play home games in Toronto
The Jays played out of Buffalo last year.
Padres Pony Up
Fernando Tatis Jr. has agreed to a $340 million, 14-year deal that will keep the shortstop with the San Diego Padres until he’s 35 years old,
Tatis has bloomed into a superstar with the Padres.
He helped San Diego end a 13-year playoff drought in 2020 and win a wild-card series against the St. Louis Cardinals before the Padres were swept by the rival Los Angeles Dodgers in the NL Division Series.
It’s the longest contract signed in MLB history.

Owen Sound Girls Hockey will resume Saturday.
The Ice Hawk teams will have the same ice times as prior to the December Lockdown.
Barring unforeseen alterations, the season will be extended until April 18th.
Owen Sound Minor Hockey Group has re-opened registration.
The organization plans on resuming the week of February. 22nd & operate an extended program to April 18th.
