A 57-year-old Owen Sound man faces an impaired driving charge after being found fast asleep behind the wheel of his car in the middle of the road.
Owen Sound Police say the man pulled into his neighbour’s driveway shortly before 11 p.m. on Thursday night thinking it was his own.
Police allege he then put the vehicle into neutral instead of park and fell asleep behind the wheel. The vehicle ended up rolling out of the driveway and came to a stop in the middle of the road.
A nearby resident observed this and contacted police. Officers attended and located the driver sound asleep.
City Police say investigation revealed the 57-year-old was impaired. He was arrested and brought to the police stations where he provided two samples of breath readings of almost three times the legal limit.
