A Keswick woman was rescued after going through the ice of Paul’s Lake in Muskoka Wednesday morning.
Officers converged on the area of Campbell’s Road and Gravenhurst Parkway near the Muskoka airport. The woman told police that she was out for a hike when she fell through.
Officers arrived and summoned help from OPP Aviation Search and Rescue, as well as an OPP snowmobile team, Muskoka paramedics and the Gravenhurst Fire Department.
The 33-year old was safely extracted from the ice by the OPP helicopter crew and flown to local hospital where she was being treated for potential life threatening injuries. Two officers also received medical attention as a result of the rescue.
