More travel restrictions take effect across the country today. ‘
All international passenger flights must now land at only four airports in Canada–Vancouver, Toronto, Calgary, and Montreal.
We could also find out later today when all air travelers arriving in Canada will have to stay at a government-approved hotel for three nights and take a COVID-19 test-all at their own expense.
That’s in addition to to proof of a negative pre-departure test.
Transport Minister Omar Alghabra has said people should be prepared for the changes as soon as possible.
The new restrictions will include scheduled commercial passenger flights arriving from the United States, Mexico, Central America, the Caribbean and South America.
Private/Business and charter flights from all countries will also be required to land at the four airports.
