New York Rangers General Manager Jeff Gorton confirmed defenceman Tony DeAngelo had played his last game for the club.
DeAngelo who played for Sarnia & Sault Ste Marie in the Ontario Hockey League went unclaimed after being waived on Sunday following a reported physical altercation with goaltender Alexander Georgiev.
Devils Delayed
The National Hockey League announced the New Jersey Devils will have their games postponed through at least February 6th as a result of additional players being added to the league’s COVID Protocol Related Absence List.
The Devils had 10 players on the COVID list as of yesterday

Andreescu Withdraws
Canadian tennis star Bianca Andreescu withdrew from the Grampians Trophy event scheduled to start tomorrow
Andreescu hasn’t played since the 2019 WTA Trophy because of knee and foot injuries.
The Mississauga native was among 72 players forced into the hard lockdown after being deemed a close contact of passengers on their charter flights who returned a positive test for COVID-19 after arriving in Australia last month.
MLB To Start As Scheduled
The Major League Baseball Players Association rejected a proposal by MLB to delay the start of the season last night.
As a result, MLB will start spring training and the regular season as scheduled.
The Players Association dismissed a proposal to push back the season, which means the February 17th spring training report date and April 1st Opening Day remain in place.
