A two-day snowmobile inspection by Huronia West OPP has resulted in several charges.
Police say on Wednesday January 27th and Thursday January 28th, officers conducted an enforcement and education initiative on the trails and roadways in our area.
While maintaining visibility on the trails, members welcomed the opportunity to speak with numerous snowmobilers, providing public safety education and encouraging safe operation throughout the snowmobiling season.
As a result of their efforts, 16 charges were laid under the Ontario Motorized Snow Vehicle Act and Trespass to Property Act.
Police remind snowmobilers that an essential part of the enforcement job is to save lives and reduce injuries on our trails, through community partnerships we educate the public about safe driving practices.
