The football worshippers here are calling me ” Mr 50 % ” after going 2 for 4 last weekend with the National Football League predictions.
Straight up, I called for Green Bay, Baltimore, KC & New Orleans to win their games.
I was right with the 2 top seeds; Green Bay and Kansas City, both winning on home field.
However, Buffalo at home, and Tampa Bay on the road, scored victories to advance to the Final 4.
I have to wonder if Baltimore’s Justin Tucker had made his first two field goal attempts or if 3rd & goal for the Ravens hadn’t resulted in a 101 year interception return TD for Buffalo if the outcome wouldn’t have been different.
Against the spread based on the opening odds last week, my calls were Green Bay, Baltimore, Kansas City & Tampa Bay.
Again, 2 for 4.
Green Bay won by 7 & Tampa Bay beat the spread as a 3.5 underdog.
Baltimore were slight underdogs but lost by 14 points ( see above )
And Kansas City was a 10 point favorite and if Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes hadn’t been inured would the margin of victory have been more than 5 ?
Which brings us to this week.
Straight Up, I’ll go with the top seeds at home, Kansas City in the AFC, Green Bay in the NFC.
And for the point spread, the Opening Line was KC by 3 and the Packers by 3 & 1/2.
Again, I’ll go with the Chiefs and Packers.
