A speeding vehicle in Orillia has led to several drug charges against a man from North York.
Police say two suspicious vehicles were observed last night on Matchedash Street North, where one took off quickly and was stopped by officers.
Police say the male driver was recognized by the officer and it was determined that he was not abiding by conditions, so he was placed under arrest and a quantity of cocaine was seized.
As a result, Dwayne Morgan age 41, of North York, has been charged with:
Possession of schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine
Possession of schedule I substance – cocaine
Failure to comply with undertaking
Individual – fail to comply with a continued 7.0.2 order
Driving while under suspension
Fail to surrender insurance card
Fail to surrender permit for motor vehicle
The accused was held for a bail hearing on January 21, 2021, at the Ontario Court of Justice, Barrie.
