It has been a deadly start to Snowmobile Safety Week.
Three snowmobilers have died in two separate incidents on the same day.
The OPP say a snowmobile went through the ice on Sunday afternoon near Midland Point, and a man was rescued, but later died from his injuries.
He’s been identified as 40 year old William Fournier from Midland.
A few hours later, police received another call from Robins Point Road in Victoria Harbour, where a resident heard a call for help from Sturgeon Bay.
Clothing was found nearby and police received a missing persons report about two overdue snowmobilers from the Orillia area.
A search was conducted involving the OPP helicopter, but it had to be postponed when darkness fell and resumed yesterday morning, when two bodies were recovered.
They have been identified as Jereld Bremner 49 years of Coldwater and Donald Bremner 19 years also of Coldwater.

In many areas of the Province Ice is just beginning to form resulting in very unpredictable & unsafe conditions. Remember, no ice formed over open water can be considered 100% safe. #NoIceIsSafeIce #NthldOPP ^kj pic.twitter.com/bZX9xvjNYd
