MacDermid Sidelined
Sauble Beach native Kurtis MacDermid is unavailable to the LA Kings due to the National Hockey League’s COVID-19 protocols.
There was no clarification as to whether MacDermid tested positive for the virus or had been in close contact with someone who tested positive
MacDermid will not be able to practice or travel with the team until he’s been cleared.
As a junior MacDermid played 2 & 1/2 seasons with the Owen Sound Attack in the Ontario Hockey League and has played 90 NHL games for LA.

Jags and Jets Hire Coaches
The Jacksonville Jaguars of the National Football League have hired Urban Meyer as their new head coach,
Meyer’s hiring comes after regular communication between him and the Jaguars.
Jacksonville was 1 & 15 last year.
The New York Jets reached an agreement in principle with San Francisco 49ers defensive co-ordinator Robert Saleh on Thursday night to hire him as their head coach.
Saleh replaces Adam Gase, who was fired by the Jets on January 3rd after going 9 & 23 over 2 seasons.
The Jets went 2 & 14 last season
Excelsiors Examined
The Ontario Lacrosse Association has announced an ad hoc committee has been established to examine the scenario in which the Brampton Excelsiors Major Lacrosse team would shift operations to Owen Sound.
The committee will report back to the O.L.A. Board of Directors and the ultimate decision will be based on what’s best for the sport.
In mid-November news surfaced that Excelsiors owner Joe Norton was moving the Excelsiors operation to Owen Sound where Norton also is the owner of the Bug Juice Senior NorthStars.
