Barrie city council has given final approval for a highrise development near the waterfront, which will be the largest in its history.
It would rezone and redesignate property between Lakeshore Drive and Bradford Street, so Smart Centres can build residential towers that are 25, 35, 38 and 41 storeys high.
The buildings would include 1900 units, as well as commercial space and a hotel.
No word yet on when the ground-breaking will begin.
