The Progressive Conservative MPP for Huron-Bruce says some accomplishments in 2020 will help the region’s economy in 2021.
Lisa Thompson points to the summer completion of the Goderich Harbour as an economic driver for the region.
In August of 2020, the Port of Goderich welcomed its first cargo to the newly created dock #8 and adjacent 4 acres of wharf.
Thompson also says an expansion of the Business Risk Management Program will assist the agri-food sector, dominant in Huron and Bruce counties.
$3.5 million was invested into the program to help 700 businesses in the Ontario agri-food sector establish or expand their online presence.
For the remainder of 2021, Thompson tells Country 104.9 News the province looks to continue providing PPE to school boards, and supports for congregate living settings to help Ontarians weather the pandemic.
