Huron OPP say an officer was assaulted while making an arrest in Goderich.
According to reports, an officer was patrolling Gibbons Street on January 2nd, and spotted a man with an outstanding arrest warrant.
After confirming the valid warrant and approaching the accused, police say the man attempted to flee into a residence.
Reports say the officer attempted to gain physical control of the accused, but was assaulted in the melee.
OPP say additional officers responded and assisted in taking the accused into custody.
A 32 year old Goderich man has been charged with resist peace officer and assault a peace officer.
