U.S. President Donald Trump has finally conceded the 2020 election to president-elect Joe Biden.
Trump posted a new video to Twitter on Thursday night, promising a smooth transition of power on January 20th and condemning his violent supporters who stormed the Capitol building on Wednesday.
In the short message, Trump told his supporters that while he knows they are “disappointed,” he added that “our incredible journey is only just beginning.”
The announcement was made shortly after Democratic House Speaker Nancy Pelosi called for the removal of Trump from office and called on Vice-President Mike Pence to use the 25th Amendment, which allows for the vice-president and a majority of the cabinet to declare the president unfit for office.
