South Bruce OPP have released the results of their Festive R.I.D.E. program conducted over the holiday season.
Provincial Police say numerous roadside checks were set up across the detachment area — which includes South Bruce, Kincardine, Walkerton and Huron-Kinloss — between Nov. 26, 2020 and Jan. 3, 2021.
During the period, South Bruce OPP officers charged five drivers with impaired driving offences.
Police say officers also investigated more than 80 motor vehicle collisions over that span. Injuries were reported at four of the collision scenes. At two of them, a motorist was charged with impaired driving.
